Reuniting with the Guardians of the Galaxy at Disneyland Paris is more romantic than anything else

At Disneyland Paris, which is celebrating its 30th birthday with the opening of the new Avengers Campus, the reunion with the Guardians of the Galaxy is an experience that is both imaginative and cinematic.
Just as in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, in addition to Rocket Raccoon’s coming-of-age storyline, director James Gunn wanted to present a different kind of reality through the movie, in this place where dream-making and dream-fulfillment meet romantically, we once again clearly realize that – whether on this planet or in that universe – anything is possible.
They are “freaks” from all corners of the universe, who coincidentally come together to form the Galactic Guardians; with one word from him, everyone turns around for him, and they become a family that will sacrifice everything for each other, “Family Forever”; In the end, just like a real family, in the action to complete the growth of each of them, although they still love each other, but finally have to say goodbye, each exploring his own path of life. That’s the reality that director James Gunn wanted to put behind this extraordinary enough team of Marvel heroes, in addition to Rocket Raccoon’s coming-of-age storyline in Marvel’s latest film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

On April 22nd, we were at Disneyland Paris’ new Avengers Campus to witness one of the biggest movie premieres ever at Disneyland Paris – the Guardians of the Galaxy European Spectacular. The movie was released domestically on May 5 in tandem with North America, and set a new domestic release rating for the Marvel franchise.
In fact, earlier in the day, park staff had already begun handing out Avengers park entry bracelets, which had been wrapped, to some lucky visitors. In addition, some lucky Marvel fans picked by Disneyland Paris, as well as media bloggers from around the globe, posed for photos and autographs with the film’s creative team who attended the premiere that day, including Chris Pratt, who stars as Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora; Mantis actress Pom Klementieff; Gruffydd, who is a member of the cast of the movie; and the cast of the movie. Klementieff, the voice of Groot, Vin Diesel, Nebula’s Karen Gillan, and director James Gunn, who all walked the red carpet at the Marvel-themed park that opened last summer at Walt Disney Studios in Paris. Red Carpet. This is the second time Disney Paris has hosted such an event, following the special premieres of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 in 2017, Ant-Man and the Wasp Woman in 2018 and Toy Story 4 in 2019.
Following the premiere, guests who are Guardians of the Galaxy Europe at Disneyland Paris were treated to another first look at the final installment of the trilogy in the series in advance at the Gaumont Cinema in Disneytown. To continue the celebratory revelry, rides at the Marvel-themed parks stayed up all night that night, such as Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure.
Speaking of Avengers Campus, in the official words of Disneyland Paris, “Marvel’s Avengers Campus, created by Tony Stark himself, aims to discover, recruit and train the next generation of superheroes. For the first time, newly recruited members will be authorized to act and play an active role with the Avengers. Welcome to the new Avengers Headquarters!” Here you can join Iron Man and Captain Marvel on a high-speed mission on an exclusive ride only available at Disneyland Paris, Avengers Assemble: the Flying Forces, or you can team up with Spider-Man in action to capture an out-of-control spider-bot before it wreaks havoc on the campus. Both rides are decent experiences, the former is relatively thrilling and after trying it out, we ended up walking out holding onto the wall, while the latter is relatively mild and can also be a bonding experience with Spider-Man loving kids.
For Marvel fans, not only can they play in the Marvel-themed parks, but they can also immerse themselves in and enjoy Marvel-themed paintings at Disney’s Hotel New York-the art of Marvel in Paris, the world’s first Marvel-themed hotel. The hotel boasts one of the largest collections of Marvel art in the world, featuring more than 350 works of art, including 50 exclusive and never-before-seen pieces by 110 international artists.
The hotel offers four-star serviced accommodations in New York City’s Manhattan style, with 471 Premier Rooms, 65 Empire Club Rooms and 25 suites dedicated to Spider-Man, The Avengers or other Marvel superheroes. Set up for families, the Marvel Design Studio is a creative space for parents to unleash their inner creativity with their children and learn how to draw one of the many inspiring superheroes.
In addition to celebrating the opening of the Marvel-themed park in Paris, this airing of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 family at Disneyland Paris is part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, a series of events that have been going on since last year and will continue until September 30, 2023. “I’m a veteran of Disneyland Paris, I’ve been working here since the day the park was built, this is my 31st year working here, before that I worked in the parks and then was transferred here with the opening of the New York Hotel.” A staff member at the Marvel-themed New York Hotel shared his story with us about Disneyland Paris and how happy he feels working for Disney.
At the time of its establishment, to make Disneyland Paris even more unique, the Disney Company made drastic cuts based on the American Disney foundation, with the most notable difference being the architecture. All of the buildings in Disneyland Paris were specially designed, not in the American architectural style, but in a mixture of French Rococo, Baroque and Versailles styles, with pinks, golds and deep blues as the dominant colors. Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, the park’s most iconic building, is a European romanticism in pink with a dreamy blue dome.
Inspired by the castle seen at the beginning of Walt Disney’s 1959 animated feature film “Sleeping Beauty” and le château de Neuschwanstein en Bavière, and incorporating architectural styles originating from French castles, the château creates a highly imaginative appearance, and is the only one of Disney’s castles that combines a rocky mountain and old trees. It is also the only Disney castle that combines a rockery and old trees with a curved isosceles triangle, which is perfectly proportioned. If you enter the castle, you can also see some very French architectural details such as stained jewels, stained glass windows, golden arrows adorning each of the blue roofs, some of which are even adorned with little golden snails, a tribute to French and Burgundian culture.
During the 30th anniversary celebrations of Disneyland Paris, the foot of Sleeping Beauty Castle witnessed one fantastical show after another. Not to be missed is the “Dream…and Shine Brighter” show, which takes place every day at 2:30pm. The celebration of the “Dream…and Shine Brighter” show. When you arrive on time at the central plaza of Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland Paris, with the upbeat music playing on the radio, it’s like entering a dream, only to see Mickey, Minnie and their friends, the classic Disneyland characters, dressed in their new costumes, marching along as they begin to dance, laugh and fantasize in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, together lighting up the World!
At that moment, you enter the immersive Mickey’s Fairytale Kingdom, where the fairytale Snow White will take your hand and dance with you, and the lucky kids will be surprised and curious to take pictures with Mickey and his best friends, an immersive fantasy song and dance carnival that transcends everything. As long as you are here, you can’t help but blossom more and more boldly in the colorful and melodious music. The center-stage dancers, with their passionate physicality and excellent expression management, will make all your discomforts disappear, so all you have to do is just let go and embrace the 29 minutes of fun that lasts.
Another comparable event is the 30th anniversary limited nightly Lights of Dee and Disney Dreams. As night falls, everyone gathers in the central plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, each trying to find the best view from the overwhelming crowd to enjoy the nighttime spectacle that is Disneyland Paris. As the choreography of drone lights illuminated the Disneyland sky above Sleeping Beauty’s castle, the sight of a little girl in the crowd, held aloft by her father and wearing a Mickey hairband, was like seeing the little me who tiptoed to the theater stage to watch the show. Yes, how is this not Western fairy tale theater in another context? Drama is theater art, someone builds the stage, and someone performs on it, creating one dream after another, allowing the audience to freely roam in various roles and fantasies.
In this theater, which originates from life and is higher than life, you can briefly detach yourself from reality, arbitrarily change perspectives, and freely convert the world; in that world full of fantasies, everything is possible, you may be a mediocre ordinary person, but the dream will give you magical energy; you may even be the ultimate punk in life, but by chance, you can become a hero who participates in the saving of the world and the defense of the galaxy. Heroes.
At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, when Star-Lord is in danger to save all the creatures on his ship, the reality of what director James Gunn is trying to say comes back to life: “Cherish each and every one of them”. When the children, modified creatures, animals and monsters jumped from the ship of the highest evolution about to explode to Star-Lord’s land of nothingness, from this moment on, the Guardians of the Galaxy have to build their ideal society and continue to sail into the universe – there is no one who is their savior, but only they, their own saviors.
